Matt Franz
Principal, founder
Matt founded Eagle Point Capital in 2017 to make long-term value investments for himself, family, and friends.
Previously, Matt worked as an options trader and quantitative analyst. Matt graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
Matt lives in Chicago and enjoys traveling. Outside of investing, he likes getting outdoors to ski, run and climb.
Dan Shuart
Principal
Prior to Eagle Point Capital, Dan was a member of the investment team at a lower middle-market private equity investment firm. While in private equity, Dan worked extensively with portfolio companies from acquisition through exit, with a focus towards growing equity value throughout the investment period.
Dan also worked at Amway Corporation in a variety of operational roles including internal continuous improvement consulting and serving as a manufacturing leader for a plant start-up. Dan graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
Dan lives in East Grand Rapids, Michigan with his wife and three children. Outside of investing, Dan enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors golfing, hunting and running.
